The Dome of the Secession Building


The Secession Building
Built in 1897 by Joseph Maria Olbrich

Its recently restored leafy gilded  dome  shines
like a jewel against the blue summer sky

"Krauthäupl" (Viennese for cabbage)
A local term of endearment for the gilded leafy dome of the Secession building.

    Yes, a very expensive cabbage but possibly my favourite building in Wien. In marvellous condition again, and your picture gleams.
