Rainy Day Song
Viennese Escapes: Vorarlberg

"Ging heut Morgen übers Feld"
I went this morning over the field,
Dew still hung on the grass;

The happy finch spoke to me:
"Hey you! Right? Good morning!

Hey, right, you,
Isn't it a lovely world, lovely world?

Quoted from Mahler's "Songs of a Wayfarer"

  3. Softness, purity of nature, and I can almost hear the quiet, but imagine the sound of birds...of course ;)

    1. Oh yes, lots of birds singing when the sun came back out!

  4. Indeed, what the Japanese call "forest therapy" is a perfect way to bring peace and serenity into your soul. These images fulfill the lyrics of the song quite well.

    1. Thank you, Kate!
      It was such a beautiful walk, right after the rain had stopped.
      One of my fondest memories of rain in May.
