In the Quiet of the Evening
Viennese Moments

Serendipity
A scoop of Demel's violet ice cream
with hand-whipped cream -
the fruity flavour of the ice cream
and the softness of the unsweetened cream
form a perfect marriage of flavour and texture -
an accidental discovery: I had forgotten to ask
the Demelinerin to please hold the Schlag!

And a bargain, too: € 2.70
Window seat, the quiet atmosphere
of the hour before closing time
and good company included!
Her espresso was € 2.80 and delicious.

  1. Ice cream, even if it's a fabulously gorgeous violet ice cream, always seems to taste better in good company.

(I imagine it's sorbet - raspberry sorbet, my favourite!)
