  1. Quite a curious mix of architecture- I love the idea of naming a hotel after Aphrodite!

    1. In Vienna, old and new quite often enjoy each other's company. Aphrodite truly is an interesting hotel name. ;-)

  3. Hans Hollein was a very famous architect indeed and a very welcome bit of change in the viennese architecture with it Habsburger classics. I wonder if ever an sunshade flown away by wind on that heigh.

  9. Your photo of Lobmeyr is terrific. The contrast of designs and color is most
    special. Happy Sunday to you!

  10. Yes a wide range of buildings. All I can find for the Aphrodite building are dates 1781-1848 but no named architect. Never had enjoyed coffee on to of the Haas Haus; still a target for a Wien summer trip.
As ever, sharp & interesting images.

  12. You have (as always) capture beautiful details everywhere. And I have to say, those rooftop umbrellas must really be weighted down to keep them from blowing away up high like that, or else there is not much wind in Vienna....
