Quite a curious mix of architecture- I love the idea of naming a hotel after Aphrodite!
ReplyDeleteIn Vienna, old and new quite often enjoy each other's company. Aphrodite truly is an interesting hotel name. ;-)
DeleteWow, your city is so elegant!
ReplyDeleteYes, one of the many faces of Vienna! :-)
DeleteHans Hollein was a very famous architect indeed and a very welcome bit of change in the viennese architecture with it Habsburger classics. I wonder if ever an sunshade flown away by wind on that heigh.
ReplyDeleteTruly a great architect! I have never heard of any flying objects up there. ;-)
DeleteBeautiful architecture and blue skies!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Thank you, a wonderful weekend to you too! :-)
DeleteWow so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, LadyFi! :-)
DeleteIt's a beautiful building!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! :-)
DeleteI love the contrast between the architecture in the first and second photos.
ReplyDeleteOne of the aspects of Vienna that I love! :-)
DeleteWow, your photos are amazing, such architecture, and reflections, and light.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of Lobmeyr is terrific. The contrast of designs and color is most
ReplyDeletespecial. Happy Sunday to you!
Yes a wide range of buildings. All I can find for the Aphrodite building are dates 1781-1848 but no named architect. Never had enjoyed coffee on to of the Haas Haus; still a target for a Wien summer trip.
ReplyDeleteAs ever, sharp & interesting images.
Vienna, truly an architectural feast for the eye, so loved strolling along the many corridors of Vienna, amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou have (as always) capture beautiful details everywhere. And I have to say, those rooftop umbrellas must really be weighted down to keep them from blowing away up high like that, or else there is not much wind in Vienna....
