Vienna in Winter
Blue with Cold and other Stories

Teddy Bear Blues
How am I feeling, you ask?
Me, sitting here in polar vortex blue!

Light Blue Winter Sky
Façade on the shady side of Wienzeile,
with windows reflecting the bright winter sky

In the Midst of Winter
The slightest glimmer of sunlight
warms the heart

Livin' la Vida Loca
Yes, you are forgiven for
not expecting the hardy Viennese
sipping coffee outdoors, in the midst of winter

Naschmarkt for the Soul
To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven -
in Vienna, there are four seasons,
and every single one is good for outdoor living

while running errands along
Vienna's outdoor market at Naschmarkt

  2. I like these photographs so much Merisi! Over here in NYC, it's been so cold recently that it is very, very amusing to see that some restaurants actually still bother to set up tables and chair along the sidewalk in front of their establishments. xo

    1. The sidewalk cafes will not open until March, but at the Naschmarkt, you'll always find outdoor diner and coffee drinkers. ;-)

  4. The composition, reflection and color in your Light Blue Winter Sky is truly remarkable, Merisi. Thanks for the wonderful shot to start my day on a cold winter day in the Great Smoky Mountains.
