I think I know which Konditorei you are talking about. It disappeared not long after I moved to Vienna. Hollmann was a unique place, it had a special aura, much missed. I am so grateful my friends Renate and Claus introduced me to it early on, so I had a few years to savour it.
Were your ears burning the other day? My youngest daughter has been visiting from Florida for 2 weeks and we go and grab a coffee as often as we can. I had a Barista make some beautiful designs in my Cafe' Mocha and asked my daughter to take some pics for me because I told her of your shares that always look so dreamy. Well she did and after looking, mine was not so dreamy after all. Lovely as always my friend~
Alas! I'm sure it was delicious.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! :-)
Deletesweet memories indeed. I still miss the Lehmann patissierie which was on the Graben. I was only in Hollmann once. Much missed.

An affair to remember, I am sure.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your title! :-)
DeleteI loved not only the chocolate cake, but the restaurant and its whole staff.
Cake all gone!
ReplyDeleteTruly gone! *sigh*
DeleteNEVER!
ReplyDeleteIf it would have been my choice, it would have never ended!
