Make a Wish
Burano in Vienna

Reflections
On a winter afternoon, the late afternoon sun illuminates
a row if buildings on the opposite side of the street,
their colorful facades reminiscent of houses in Burano in the Venetian Lagoon

Photographed 3 December 2016
at the intersection of Prinz-Eugen-Straße and Gürtel
near the southern gate of the Belvedere Gardens

  1. Excellent capture ! I was in V last week and explored the new Hauptbahnhof; just a couple of years of chaos has produced a fine modern station & shopping /office complex. It is still prettier looking the other way though, towards Upper Belvedere.

    1. The new Central Station and the development around it are a gigantic undertaking. The Belvedere, of course, is of such timeless beauty, we need to be forever grateful to Prince Eugen to have invested his well earned fortune in the arts.
      Warm greetings from Vienna,
