Quite a strong contrast in that first shot!
ReplyDeleteIndeed! ;-)
DeleteIt looks hot -- we'll all hope for some respite.
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting the peak of this week's heatwave today.
DeleteMerisi, it's been grand having a catch up on summer's advance across Vienna. Your photographs in this post made me smill with that last picture. I know that I were actually walking past that stand on a summer midday...yes, I would wish to sample that hot dog. Would you recommend this particular stand?

This is probably the most inviting hot dog stand during the dog days of summer!
DeleteEverybody wants a little shade with everything. ;-)
Thanks Merisi. Of course, you know I did mean "smile." My typing is becoming more and more erratic. Slippery keys or slippery fingers to blame?

I'll say it again Merisi, you do make Vienna look so beautiful and inviting..
ReplyDeleteThank you, Geoff! Vienna IS beautiful and inviting.
DeleteLovely juxtapostion of material, and in wonderful bright sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThat church, sigh, I have never managed yet to get into. Maybe next visit.
Thank you, Kurwenal!
DeleteWe have so much bright sunshine, we have been sweltering for moths on end, it seems. This morning, the sun was sizzling hot as soon as it rose over the roofs.
Yes, the first one is a study in contrast of view and purpose. Probably one could use a little of the others demeanor. The Hyatt looks like it has bars on the windows? Thanks for you sharing your city with wonderful photography
ReplyDeleteThe Park Hyatt hotel is housed in a historical building, the former headquarters of the Austrian Hungarian Monarchy Bank. I imagine the renovation project was undertaken under probably strict historical preservation guidelines, hence the bars on the windows.
DeleteThe architecture is so light and pure and embellished! I enjoy the colorful modern scene at street level.
ReplyDeleteThank you, SW! :-)
DeleteTell us more about those hot dogs!
ReplyDeleteI will have to investigate! ;-)
DeleteHot dog is not what's usually on my menu.
Such a lovely, vintage, very well kept city.
ReplyDeleteLove your photography.
