Stormy Weather
Prince Eugene's Belvedere

South Side of the Upper Belvedere Palace
Due to strong storm and gale warnings, the Christmas markets
remained closed on this last day of November 2015

Stormy Weather
A view of the city from the Upper Belvedere -
have you spotted the rainbow?

Moments after the sun had broken briefly through the clouds
to illuminate the city down the hill, heavy raindrops started falling

Everyone hurried towards a shelter from the rain,
only the sphinx stayed behind, seemingly unperturbed

  1. Wow, what a difference!
I read in the paper today about the hurricane-force winds in Vienna and across Austria. Oi!

    1. The storm's still howling in full force, a bit upsetting.

  2. Lovely vistas framed by the dark sky. Looks chilly and wet.

    1. I caught this one moment when the sun broke through the clouds for a moment and illuminated the city. It was not too chilly, just very windy and very wet. I got home soaked. ;-)

  3. I really like these dramatic skies.

    1. I was there to take some photographs of the Christmas market during lunch hour. The stalls were closed, but I enjoyed the dramatic sky instead. Until I got soaked, that is. ;-)
