  4. Good to know and look it up next time I'm in Vienna, for patriotic and gastronomic reasons. Warsaw is rainy too, Merisi.

    1. True, thank you! :-)

Did you see the recent negative reviews on some of those internet travel portals?
Bread too dense (makes me laugh), unfriendly (!!!), expensive. I absolutely disagree with such statements. Even though I only bought two slices for me and a friend to give her a taste of Vienna, a glass of water came free of charge, smiles included. And there even clear your table.

  13. Oh how I love that second photo of the man tucked away in the perfect-sized corner, with the serving lady's reflection shining in the mirror behind him. Wonderful capture!

About your question on my blog about the chair...it could well be an Eames, and I have posted a better photo of it there so that you might be able to tell.

  15. This is such a splendid place with delicious food - and the decor stuns.
I took Claudia to look at it this afternoon. She was most impressed!

  16. It looks so cozy, yet somewhat retro or art deco...or something! I hope to remember it if we ever find ourselves in Vienna!

  17. Oh this is such a difficult little corner of Wien : Cafe Hawelka on one side, and the unpronouceable T, but incredibly tasty, on the other...I cannot count the number of times I have been torn between choices when visiting !
Lovely pictures, great colour tone, and I know those sandwiches will have tasted divine.
Coming to Wien in November, and I am sure there will be rain.

  18. I don't believe I've ever heard a more pleasant name for a brew than Pfiff. It is, without doubt, the easiest brand-name to pronounce I've ever encountered and is probably made even easier to say once once has had five or six!

  19. What a wonderful place to have near you. Starbucks is it for us, but would prefer your raining day hang out
