The Politician on the Wall
Duct Tape Council to the Rescue?

Viennese Shades of Grey
A five-story billboard next to Naschmarkt,
depicting Vienna's Vice-Mayor Maria Vassilakou
duct-taped to the wall, is causing a bit of a stir lately

What's it all about?
Venting about local politics -
the way I interpret it -
specifically the fraught relationship
between the mayor and the vice mayor on the wall

Everything's quiet
a few hundred feet from the billboard,

Life at the Naschmarkt
continues unperturbed

  1. It certainly is big. No matter the country, politicians will be petty and vindictive with each other.

    1. At least here is a bit of humour involved. Not that everyone wants to see it that way. Maybe not even the "cover girl". ;-)

  3. It will be noticed. I overheard two politicians talking at the cafe today. They were planning to start a new political party, I might have benn the first person except for them to know about it. Time will tell.

    1. Exactly! ;-)
The things one overhears in coffee houses! Next to my table, at what appeared like an editorial meeting of a local media outlet, a colleague and I overheard a conversation about procuring freebie photographs from bloggers who "are tickled pink to give them away", followed by loud laughter.

  7. I'm sure no one here would mind if they duct-taped a real politician to a building (no one except the real politician of course).

    1. Now that would be a nice idea for a new reality show, every Thursday night another politician! ;-)

I think the Mayor is doing her a favor with the duct tape, after all, she is up 5 stories and could fall.
