  1. I do like Nestroy's statue. While I'd just avoid the coffee in favour of tea, some of that cake looks very tempting!

    1. They make excellent fresh mint tea at Ansari, and it is always a hard decision between that and coffee (life is tough). I love both.

  2. Merisi, rain is predicted for NYC tomorrow, and i would love to take shelter and order delicious coffee in Cafe Ansari. Definitely will not be seeking out Dunkin Doughnuts. Not here, and absolutely not in Vienna.

Looking forward to seeing more of Vienna with you in 2015. xo

    1. Thank you, Frances! It is always a delight seeing you back here and I am also looking forward to time together in 2015!
You would also love the food I had, Frances! For starters, an eggplant roll filled with a mousse of nuts and fresh herbs, pomegranate seeds one the side; for main entree I chose a radicchio and arugola salad, with red beets, quince, fromage frais, and honey dressing. plus sliced black nuts (pickled walnuts, harvested when still green and soft, going through various steps to marinate, a gourmand's delight).

    2. You are absolutely correct, Merisi. That meal sounds delicious with all those carefully combined colors, textures and flavors! Perhaps some day I will be able to order from the menu myself. xo

  3. Very beautiful photos! The person in the middle of the last picture, at first, given the feeling that is another statue.

  5. It feels good to escape from the rain into the warm coffee shops.
