Red Ripe Cherries
Almost Midsummer Morning

When I sound the fairy call,
Gather here in silent meeting,
Chin to knee on the orchard wall,
Cooled with dew and cherries eating.
Merry, merry,
Take a cherry;
Mine are sounder,
Mine are rounder,
Mine are sweeter.
For the eater
When the dews fall.
And you’ll be fairies all.
Robert Graves

  1. I am a bit puzzled: The image here looks different from what it should be looking.
If you click on it, it will look how I intended it.
Same puzzle with my profile picture that for a few days now looks much lighter and with a rosy glow. *scratcheshead*

  3. Sweet cherries make my mouth water. It's such a bummer. our cherry tree has died. No more goodness and no more race to beat the birds to them...(:0(

    1. Oh, that is a true bummer!
I hope you'll find at least some sweet cherries at a farmers market in your neighbourhood, Sue!

  6. Looks as if Blogger has more problems than one today. Was unable to publish this morning.
