"March 1 began the numbered year in Russia until the end of the 15th century. Great Britain and its colonies continued to use March 25 until 1752, when they finally adopted the Gregorian calendar. Many other cultures and religions still celebrate the beginning of the New Year in March."

It does look like such a warm, sunny and delightful day, Merisi! I would love to see some sunshine instead of the gray and rain that we're having here in Oregon. Hope you have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sylvia!
DeleteI heard on the radio the other day that this was the sunniest March on record, even before the month was over. We are so blessed this year!
Wishing you a sunny weekend, too,
Merisi
I just love your candid shots of Life and cultures.
ReplyDeleteThey are like breaths of fresh air.
the first photo is beautiful with its juxiposition of old and new. Colors are always outstanding as you put your style footprint on each picture.
Thank you, Sue! xxx
DeleteFantastic!

It looks delightfully warm there. Terrific shots!
ReplyDeleteThank you, William!
DeleteWe have had summery temperatures a week ago, but then they dropped to spring level, which is fine with me. In fact, I like the mid-teens in spring, that way the blossoms and spring flowers last much longer.
ReplyDeleteThank you! :-)
DeleteDaniela, im April wirst du wahrscheinlich noch nicht so viele Rosen blühen sehen im Rosengarten. Ich werde danach Ausschau halten und eventuell ein paar Bilder posten, sobald sie erblühen!
Alles Liebe,
Merisi
Danke dir :-)
DeleteViva la primavera !!!
