Pachelbel in the Morning
A Moment in Time

Pachelbel's Canon in D
waiting to be played again,
the room illuminated
- for one precious moment -
by golden morning light

Time is still a-flying

"What is love? 'Tis not hereafter;
Present mirth has present laughter;
What's to come is still unsure.
In delay there lies no plenty,
Then come and kiss me sweet and twenty;
Youth's a stuff will not endure."
Shakespeare, Twelfth Night

  1. What a sweet post to appeal to all senses! I've not played the canon at a piano for many years, but this makes me remember how I love the piece. Beautiful images and a lovely Shakespeare quote. I saw Twelfth Night recently and loved the production.

  8. That was one of my mother's favourite pieces. Very soothing.

    And Twelfth Night is one of my favourite Shakespearean plays. I've seen several productions and have a film version from the 90s.
