Café Jelinek
Coffee, anyone?

In my book, Café Jelinek is on the top list
of places not to miss in Vienna.
Charming interior, great coffee,
a small, but fine selection of typical Kaffeehaus pastries,
and, on my visit, the friendliest waitress imaginable
(yes, Merisi is still on her quest to find the ubiquitous
grumpy waiter or waitress. No such luck so far, after
more than seven years of trying hard to find him or her)

Café Jelinek
Open every day of the week
from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Otto-Bauer-Gasse 5
6th District

  2. I have never been in that one, but it looks like to be very typical! Love those green booths. I guess you have to be a Viennese to have the honor to get to know grumpy behaviours ;-) ;-) ;-)
    Love your blog!

  5. Merisi, it has to be you! No waiter will be grumpy with you. :-) You must be a very charming woman.

Café Jelinek is unique! One of the rare places where you are "invited" to sit with a Melange for hours.

    have a sunny day!

I have not yet been to a single place where I have not felt "invited" to linger. Lucky. ;-)
A wonderful day to you, too!

    1. Maybe I should reread "Tante Jolesch", this time in English?
Who knows, I might discover another layer in these stories. ;-)

  8. Though I'm not a coffee drinker, that cake looks delicious!
