Southern France in Vienna
Bouillabaisse with Rouille and Croutons
Early Sunday Evening
with French food and flair
Provençal fish soup served
in an Austrian Riess enamel pot
A view of the ground floor level,
from the upper floor
French pastries galore!
Next time, for we still had miles to go,
er, were heading to a meeting in a coffeehouse

Merisi, your photos bring back memories from vacances en France.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your opinion on the atmosphere? I wonder because there are no windows that face a street or courtyard. Slightly claustrophobic or not at all?
I was there early one evening, and we were sitting upstairs. I really loved the atmosphere and am looking forward to go back! Very friendly waitstaff, and the fish soup was excellent, too. The pastries look oh so good, but I have not had a chance to indulge. Yet. ;-)
DeleteHi Merisi, I'm skipping dinner but this post of yours is making my tummy mad at me!
ReplyDelete*smile*
DeleteUsually, when I get to have dinner like here, I have only had a late breakfast and skipped lunch. ;-)
This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes, a very fine establishment, indeed! :-)
DeleteOh Merisi, how delicious that fish soup must have been. I smiled at the little Riess pot, since I had just prepared my own breakfast oatmeal in a beautiful Riess porridge pot. I actually won a set of enamelware in a recent giveaway from the yvestown blog. Wow!
ReplyDeleteSmall world. xo
Aren't they fantastic, the Riess pots? A great-aunt left me her small lasagne - roasting pan. Must be half a century old, but the enamail is still as easy to clean as ever, a soak in cold water overnight, incredible quality. I am very happy the company is still producing in Austria and by all appearances successfully so.
DeleteDear Merisi, you are still sharing lovely photos of your Vienna, with the world. I'm so happy to see this.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I followed your beautiful blog, from the US. And then, I got lost along the way. I finally remembered Daily City Photos. And I remembered you. And you are still here.
Thank you for still being here. Thank you for still sharing your fantastic city. Thank you for being you.
Gentle hugs,
Tessa~
(Probably blogging under a different "name," way back then...)
Welcome back, how wonderful you found me again! :-)
DeleteMy gosh that soup looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteAlmost up to Cajun gumbo! ;-)
DeleteOne day maybe you'll give us some tips on photographing food and coffee. :) You're so brilliant at it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, that's very sweet of you to say so! xxx
DeleteI love to photograph food, in its natural environment, so to speak.
The restaurant looks very busy. And there's always time for some good French pastries!
ReplyDeleteI want some of that fish soup! It looks soooo good!
