One fine morning before Christmas
I was hurrying past Café Mozart
when I noticed someone had ripped
open one of the giant Mozartkugeln
hanging from the cafe's Christmas trees -
ever since, I can't sleep because
I feel that need to know whether
the thieves found real chocolate balls
or not

An intriguing title Merisi - I suspect that if they had contained chocolates then all the golden Mozartkugeln would have been opened. However, they do make very attractive and sophisticated decorations for the trees.
ReplyDeleteExcellent reasoning, Rosemary (Private Eye)! ;-)
DeleteI only started thinking about real chocolates when I put together the blog post. The interior of the giant balls is quite beautiful, almost too beautiful not to be seen. At least I did not expect it.
I have enjoyed your Christmas shots so much! Those are amazing and beautiful giant balls!! Wishing you a very Happy New Year, Merisi!!

DeleteI'll probably clean up my 2013 archive tomorrow night. ;-)
Your photographs make me nostalgic....I so much want to return to your beautiful city. I was there many years ago in Autumn...will never forget the wonders of the architecture, the coloured trees and the people...And I must not forget the art!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you:)
Thank you, and I hope you manage to come back to Vienna soon!
DeleteBest wishes for a Happy New Year to you and your loved ones,
Merisi
Brings back memories of munching the best of the best in Salzburg. They do make such lovely decorations and am sure that whoever broke it open was disappointed otherwise a lot more would not have survived.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly understand the temptation. Chocolate rules! What would life be without Mozartkugeln?
ReplyDeleteWonderful display of the city at day during the holidays!
