Magique... Magnifique...Et Vienne est si belle !
ReplyDeleteBises
Merisi, I am borrowing some moments from my own NYC Christmas preparations to let you know how much I am enjoying seeing your Viennese Christmas views (vintage and current.) There is something about seeing fresh greenery for sale along side of city streets at this time of year that does speak to our souls.
ReplyDelete(This is true even when we do know that some miles away from city borders there are lots of trees growing.)
Yesterday's snow and chill has now transistioned into a sort of clear, warmish...above freezing, weather that energizes us over here in NYC.
xo
Delightful, happy, holiday pictures, Merisi!! I can feel the spirit! And what a lovely way to wind down my day! Thank you!! Hope your week is going well!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen mistletoe but always associate it with holly although they don't look alike at all do they?
ReplyDeleteLove the ducks the best of all the photos, although the poppy strudel nearly made me drool.... Have a lovely Christmas.
Lovely shots... that second one in particular appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Christmastime in Vienna. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the couple on their morning walk. They are dressed so elegantly. There's just something about Europe at Christmas that's so very appealing. We've been once and maybe we repeat that trip through Germany and Austria once again.

Um poppyseedstrudel...looks so tempting in that picture, what is the actual name in Austrian? Loved too the mistletoe, strangely absent over here in UK.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such cheering pictures.
Mohnstrudel = poppyseed strudel ;-)
DeleteI recently had friends over from London, and they were telling me about a friend of theirs, not a native English speaker, who insists on talking of mistletoes. ;-)
I just returned from Salzburg, there are mistletoes everywhere, even more than in Vienna. Not to speak of the many Christmas trees all over town. Hope to share some pictures, right now I am unpacking und thenpacking again, for another 24 hours trip.
It's like a river of flowing ducks!
ReplyDeleteA lovely festive mix, Merisi. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteA lovely series of shots.
ReplyDeletewhat a delightful walk that was ... and i love a street named for me .. i was once a Singer ... no joke
ReplyDeleteEach and every "postcard" here is utterly charming!
ReplyDeleteWonderful christmas photos from Vienna,Merisi! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the orange slices and pops of red.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind comments and the best wishes for a safe and happy Holiday Season!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your photos is the next best thing to being in Vienna during Christmas! I love the lady's red boots and red skirt peeking out.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy! :-)
DeleteI love that couple, so dignified and such brilliant artful out of the ordinary elegance.
You are so good at showing the atmosphere of the places you and your camera share with us. I have enjoyed "the walk..."
ReplyDeleteLove that, Gunn! I am so grateful to have found a new home here and it makes me happy to share the one or other impression I collect along the way in this beautiful city and of its citizens.
DeleteOh so lovely...I can feel the Christmas mood there!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend!
Titti
Thank you, Titti! A wonderful weekend to you, too!
DeleteLove those ducks in rows and all the other lovely scenes, and of course the mistletoe. Have fun on your next Ausflug.
ReplyDeleteStunning photography Merisi. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Merry Christmas.

So often there are elegantly dressed people in your photos! Not "dressed up" but casually and self-contained in their attire. Of course, that is also Vienna! Thank you for the gifts you send all the year, Merisi
