Rose Leaves
Rose leaves, resting on golden leaf,
from one of the last surviving
rose bushes of the garden of Klimt's studio.
So I was told, and I want to believe that -
photographed on a grey November day in 2013
Golden Splendour
Late on a November afternoon, in 2012.
The sky looked almost white,
the sun a washed-out lemony pallor,
a moody autumn elegy all around,
were it not for the leaves still on the trees
that refused to tone down their golden light
The first picture was shot
by the window in my home,
neighborhood in Hietzing, 13th District

ReplyDeleteI'll send you a note, thank you! :-)
DeleteSo beautiful how the gold tones and intricate patterning of the leaves echo Klimt's painting style! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt is really strange, whenever I walk in his neighborhood, I see things that could have been there when he was around, and wonder what he saw, the light, the colors, what he took home from his walks. I almost feel as if a ghost is following me, makes me feel very humble.
DeleteWhat a magical world you live in!
Delete:)
All sprinkled in a bounty of gold, really beautiful~
