Café Meierei
Volksgarten
I have yet to find a square mile in Vienna
without a coffee house. One could get
the impression that every time you wish
for coffee - at the slightest onset of desire -
the Viennese Coffee Fairy plants a coffee house
right in front of you.
Theseus Temple
Volksgarten
You see no coffee house sign?
Well, the temple is undergoing renovations,
Theseus has been moved to a museum,
what would seem more natural
than opening a coffee house there?
Just send a signed petition
to City Hall! ;-)
Fernkorn Fountain
Rose Garden - Volksgarten
No coffee house?
No need to panic:
Café Landtmann is less than five minutes away,
Café Meierei just across the rose beds!
Purple Heather
Empress Elisabeth Memorial Garden
Volksgarten
Did you know that Empress Sisi
had coffee for breakfast?
In the imperial palace, of course,
but who knows, she might just have
sneaked out and into Demel's,
indulging in a cup of Viennese melange
in the afternoon!

Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI think you're a coffee fairy. :)
If they ever make coffee illegal, it sounds like Vienna will have to be abandoned! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, colorful captures, Merisi! And the "coffee fairy" indeed! Have a great weekend! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou do such a grand job posting marvelous photos. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCoffee usually means cake. So I think I should move to Vienna :)
ReplyDeleteYou are making me thirsty for a cup of that fabulous brew.
ReplyDeleteLove the theme and the photos.
Always a delight visiting you Merisi.
There seems to be an infinite number of cafes in Vienna!?
ReplyDeleteThey are all waiting for you
Thank you, each and every one! :-)
ReplyDeleteHI Merisi. Lovely fountain. Just can imagine how colorful Vienna must be at this moment! From my wordpress blog Jeannettestgermain(dot)wordpress(dot)com - but it doesn't show a place for comments there.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
I love the elegant fountain, with its ornamental grasses showing off their Fall colors. Such a nice way to begin my day ...
