Good morning! Have you ever wondered how some of my old posts suddenly appear in the "Your Favorite Post" on the right margin here? Blogger somehow keeps track of the number of visits to my blog, I have no way to manipulate this list (unless I take a post back into draft). It is spammers who work on pushing older posts suddenly to the top of my "favorites" list. Sort of looking glass world down there. ;-)
The mists of autumn melding gentle colours, mirroring the gentle season of the year when leaves gently drift to the ground and turn into occasional whirling dervishes caught by a stray wandering wind.
Carol, I used a very old 24,, 2.8f wide angle lens. It really look just like in the picture, the fog was literally hanging in the tree tops. Unfortunately, it stayed there all day, a greyisch soup. I was about town and it was so uncortably warm. Wherever I went I had to take off my very light cotton trench coat, and felt still warm in jeans and t-shirt. It was around five when I arrived back home, turning on the lights because the fog had thickened and it was dark as if night was falling already.
Das war aber auch eine graue Suppe heute, den ganzen lieben Tag lang! Und so ungemütlich warm. Ich bin jetzt wirklich froh, zuhause zu seine. Sitze im Sommerkleid beim offenen Fenster.
Ever since I read that Sandburg poem for the first time, has thick fog like today "haunches" - sitting there all day, like today, it almost feels as if it jumps on you and takes the breath away.
Thank you, Sylvia! And thank you also for gently reminding me of the correct spelling of poor Carl's last name! (I know you did not SAY anything, but the moment I read your - correctly spelled - comment, I KNEW what I had done!!!). ;-)
Very pleasant atmosphere collected and shared. We have just returned home on Tuesday afternoon, after a 6,344 mile journey and much of our time was spent driving in fog...it creates such mystery and beauty as well~
Good morning!

ReplyDeleteOh, Arija, love your words, like poetry in motion with the leaves, dancing along with the wind!
DeleteLooks like a painting...
ReplyDeleteHey how did you do that?

DeleteEin tolles Foto! Der Nebel ist ja immer noch da, nur bei meiner Aussicht wirkt er nicht so schön wie auf deinem Foto!

DeleteGorgeous. A lot like it is here most mornings.
ReplyDeleteI hope the morning fog does not stay all day in your part of the world!
DeleteOne of my favorite poems. But I grew up in Chicago, I'm a bit prejudiced. Vienna wears it well.
ReplyDeleteA fog with haunches! Sounds appropriately creepy for Halloween.

DeleteWonderful, foggy capture, Merisi, and the perfect words -- Carl Sandburg is one of my favorite writers. Hope your week is going well!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sylvia!

A fog makes everything look so mysterious. I really like the way a fog will muffle sounds.
ReplyDeleteLooks very peaceful, actually.
