Listening to ->Classical Music with John Chester ,
-> Ludwig van Beethoven, Symphony #6 "Pastoral" with Simon Rattle conducting the Vienna Philharmonic: My old and my new home getting
along quite nicely here! The CD Chester selected is by EMI, #57445.
105mm
I lOVE listening to John Chester's program, which runs from midnight to 6:00 AM EST. There's a six hours time difference between Washington DC and Vienna, so I can enjoy the whole lot! Towards late morning here, traffic news from the DC area start coming up, for some reason it makes me feel at home, somewhere out there, on the airwaves.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful day to all of you,
Merisi
The video shown in the link was filmed at Vienna's Musikverein, in the Golden Hall.
DeleteI could not figure out who the conductor is. John Chester's CD choice is excellent, but I could not find it on Youtube.
A beautiful morning to you Merisi. It took me nearly an hour to get to my blog...that was frightening...I was beginning to think it was lost forever...something with the password. Have a happy weekend~
ReplyDeleteBack at you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a peaceful perch.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful way to start the day -- any day!! Thanks for sharing, Merisi!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it grand, and still just a bit amazing, Merisi, how we can transcend our time zones via the internet?
ReplyDeleteWe each have own little time machines. How glad I am that with my own laptop I can visit beautiful Vienna again, with you as my guide.

Thank you all for taking the time to leave comments, utterly delighted about that!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
M.
Is that balcony ironwork painted two different colors or is that just shade making it darker on the left? I love the pattern of circles on the railing, and wish I could sit in that chair on a summer's morning!
ReplyDeleteSara, it is the play of sun and shade that make the railing look the way it does.
DeleteThe real color is right between the two. ;-)
PS: thank you for the John Chester link, I'm sharing that with my classical music lover husband in case he's not aware of it.
ReplyDeleteLove your music links, Merisi! I'm now listening while working, trying not to think how perfect it would be to be sitting on that graceful little balcony right now.
