of Prince Eugene of Savoy's
country estate, Schloss Hof
On the horizon
beckons another country, Slovakia
A plum orchard
alongside the main building
I spied many a plum whispering
"I'll soon be ripe and ready!"
A walk through the gardens
of Prince Eugene's country estate
means experiencing summer at its very best,
as if entering a dream and sailing on clouds

in the gardens of Prince Eugene of Savoy's Schloss Hof Summer Palace
An hour's drive from his Viennese Belvedere Palace, going eastwards

What a wonderful, beautiful place to spend time!! I do love those happy skies! Superb captures for the day, Merisi! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMerisi, what joy to see those blue sky views again, and to know that perhaps the way that I have been following your posts is still operational.
ReplyDeleteHappy July! xo
Ah, you not only live in a beautiful city, you are a short drive from beautiful outlying areas too! Thanks for the blue skies!
ReplyDeleteOur skies looked a lot like that today. Achingly blue with big puffs of cloud.
ReplyDeleteLovely sky.

Wonderful! - Chirca ;)
Those Princes sure knew how to pick a spot for a summer residence ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your daughter, Merisi!
That first one made me think of Maxfield Parrish. You just need a nymph or two in filmy draperies, leaning over the balustrade (if that's the right word.)
ReplyDeleteHa! I did something similar but at Versailles...
ReplyDeleteBlue skies, statues plus bubbling fountains
Great minds...bal bla

I was quite a buff of Prince Eugene and I read a lot about him. I knew of this place but I never managed to see it. Thank you for these pictures!
ReplyDeleteI can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be surrounded by the beautiful scenery you share here. Really special!
