Lippizaner bebes are romping about in Burggarten. Our daughter and I may just camp out there for the next few days...

Have not yet managed to get to the Burggarten. Was driving by Lipica in Slovenia the other day, have you visited there?

  16. I just finished reading A Movable Feast by Ernest Hemingway. While he lived in France in the 20s, he used to holiday in Shruns in the Vorarlberg!

    1. I was told that when that certain chocolate brand first came up with the purple cow, they actually painted a real cow purple (or lilac).

  19. When I was reading your caption, it occurred to me, that's what's different - in the Alps the cows have cowbells around their neck:)

    1. Cowbells, the last thing I heard before falling asleep and the first one when I woke up (faintly, I might add, it was like lovely music).

  22. Merisi, thank you for showing us the beauty of this pastoral scene.

I also must tell you how entrancing I found that previous curtained window.

Is it possible that you can charm cows, light and gentle breezes?

    xo

  27. Oh Merisi, our cow lost her bell . It was such a beautiful bell too. I so miss the the ringing of the cow and sheep bells. Our sheep had the whole tonal scale in bells. It took my husband about an hour at the bell makers to pick them. Then the silly sheep lost them one by one.
    Are those cows praying?
