Oh Merisi, our cow lost her bell . It was such a beautiful bell too. I so miss the the ringing of the cow and sheep bells. Our sheep had the whole tonal scale in bells. It took my husband about an hour at the bell makers to pick them. Then the silly sheep lost them one by one. Are those cows praying?
I just finished reading A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemmingway. When he was living in Paris, he and his family used to go skiing in the Vorarlberg...in Shruns!
BTW, I can only comment using my iPad, cannot comment when using my Mac laptop....
Stella, it looks as if you managed to comment on your Mac, too: Your comment arrived and I replied to it the other day! Please let me know if this happens again. Cheers, Merisi
What a great juxtaposition in this lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteI could have kissed the cow on the right, for turning her head just so, for a nanosecond. ;-)
DeleteBeautiful skies and happy cows!! I love it! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Merisi!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, a wonderful weekend to you, too! xxx
DeleteLove the cows against the puffy clouds. Looks like Heaven to me...
ReplyDeleteOh, it IS heavenly, up there!
DeleteI don't want to see a purple cow or a pink elephant...LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene. MB
You know what I was alluding to, aren't you? ;-)
DeleteHow glorious to be out in the country!
ReplyDeleteAnd high in the mountains! ;-)
DeleteAnother stunning shot. Beautiful and imaginative.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to arrange all this for a photo shoot, I'd still be out there! ;-)
DeleteLove, Love, Love the cows.
ReplyDeleteLippizaner bebes are romping about in Burggarten. Our daughter and I may just camp out there for the next few days...
Cute, aren't they? ;-)
DeleteHave not yet managed to get to the Burggarten. Was driving by Lipica in Slovenia the other day, have you visited there?
What beautiful countryside. Darin, I was expecting at least one purple cow :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky and also great shot of the cows and landscape.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely. Who needs a purple cow anyway ;>). Beautiful countryside.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo,Merisi!Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI guess you could call this composition "Cows with the Crucified Christ."
ReplyDeleteMystical Sky
Lovely photo, a perfect post for SWF!
ReplyDeleteLove how the sky patterns seem to dominate this beautiful hilly countryside. Gorgeous photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and neat sight. Looks like they are in clouds.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot.
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading A Movable Feast by Ernest Hemingway. While he lived in France in the 20s, he used to holiday in Shruns in the Vorarlberg!
ReplyDeleteSchruns is close by, same mountain (Arlberg), about half an hour's drive.
DeleteGreat scene.
ReplyDeleteSchöne Aufnahme.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüsse Daniela
I would like to see a purple cow, beautiful shot! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI was told that when that certain chocolate brand first came up with the purple cow, they actually painted a real cow purple (or lilac).
DeleteWhen I was reading your caption, it occurred to me, that's what's different - in the Alps the cows have cowbells around their neck:)
ReplyDeleteCowbells, the last thing I heard before falling asleep and the first one when I woke up (faintly, I might add, it was like lovely music).
DeleteDid you arrange the cows yourself. They seem to make a perfect group.
ReplyDeleteI promised to leave them alone if they'd give me one perfect shot! ;-)
DeleteAre they taking confession?
ReplyDeleteProbably thanking their lucky stars they're not in NYC or Paris
Up there at 6,000 feet the milk does not get sour, that's for sure! ;-)
DeleteMerisi, thank you for showing us the beauty of this pastoral scene.
ReplyDeleteI also must tell you how entrancing I found that previous curtained window.
Is it possible that you can charm cows, light and gentle breezes?
xo
They are CALLING ME, Frances, can't escape (much to the consternation of those who have to deal with me on a daily basis). ;-)
DeleteI think the purple cows are in Switzerland! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your look at Vienna. It's one of the European cities I haven't visited yet. But I will get there! :)
*lol*
Deleteuhm, that's a rather bizarre image.
ReplyDeleteCertainly now what you'd find down in the Bayou! ;-)
DeleteJust lovely, Meresi...reminds me of Switzerland. I'm in Mumbai for six months...praying the rains will stop soon.
