That Old House in Alsergrund
Viennese Neighborhoods

Pigeons
on the roof

Flowers
behind curtained windows

Store signs
long past due

Ghost of times gone by
walking undisturbed

  2. Merisi, I very much admire these photographs from the 9th District. The scenery is not trendy and elegant, but has got a wondrous grace and carries lots of history. As I've written before, I see these images and began to create stories in my mind.

    Many thanks! xo

  5. I wonder what tales it could tell and who lives there, some descendent of the once prosperous shopkeeper perhaps? What romance lies behind those peeling doors . . .

  10. Clearly one pigeon is the Boss of the other pigeon...
    Bureaucracy everywhere.

  12. Catching up on your blog posts....This mysterious building was directly in my view from my apartment in Alsergrund! What a surprise to find it here, in your photographs! I wonder who this building belongs to, and what kind of state the inside is in...
