St. Patrick's Day Parade in Vienna
Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh!

Irish Setters
Holding both the Irish
and the Austrian flag

The Vienna Pipes and Drums
Marching from the Scottish Abbey
at Freyung square to the Burgtheater

We are all Irish
Dancing in the streets

"When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away"

"And while springtime is ours
Throughout all of youth's hours,
Let us smile each chance we get"

I would have missed out on all the fun
were it not for this Irish gentleman,
whom I encountered earlier in the morning
while crossing the street near Schottenkirche
Thank you, SQMS David Ussher!

  2. Merisi, the New York St. Patrick's Day parade was held yesterday, although today is the actual Day. Unfortunately, I was scheduled to to work yesterday, so missed seeing the parade (held during a steady, if light snowfall.)

How wonderful to see these happy folks and obliging pups celebrating in Vienna. More green!
