I watched the driver getting into the car,
but did not wait to see if he ever managed
to move it out of the snowdrift

The contrasts are terrific! It does look SO cold, but so beautiful! Have a great weekend, Merisi!!
ReplyDeleteThank you,
Deletea great weekend to you, too, Sylvia!
I love all your snow photos and admire your ability to withstand the cold with your camera.
ReplyDeleteSort of moving right along, with the cold. That day, though, I was only able to work with the 50mm lens and a hood. Too much snow coming down.
DeleteThe driver may have had to get out of the car and take up a shovel! ;-)
Wonderful snow pictures! Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, same to you! :-)

ReplyDeleteYou captured the beauty and contrast of each image !
Lovely ! Thank you for sharing this !
The first two pictures made me gasp with their beauty! I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteThe last one (with its caption) made me laugh. I hope the guy isn't still in there waiting for the snow to melt!
*smile*
DeleteI forgot to check on him, later on! ;-)
So very pretty! So much snow! Beautiful to look at, but not so beautiful to drive in! Enjoy your weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteBy now the streets are alright, but the next snowfall will arrive soon enough!
DeleteI love the way the berries and leaves embroider the snowy picture.
ReplyDeleteThere's so much beauty in nature, isn't it?
DeleteSome days I dream of living in the countryside, taking macro pictures in nature. ;-)
Here it's just mucky not pretty like Vienna!
ReplyDeleteIt was not too pretty today around here, grey sky, cold. I am just glad I got some exercise walking through a cemetery and then back home, sticking close to the radiator. ;-)
DeleteWOW, we have the COLD temperatures, but so far, only one little snowfall...winter has only just begun;') Happy weekend Merisi~
ReplyDeleteYou are right, winter's only just begun! ;-)
DeleteMartin Luther King holiday and President's weekend are feared in the Washington, DC area for the amount of snow that can come down then. I remember January 2004 or 2005, just as much if not more snow than we are having here right now, and nothing moved anymore. One of our neighbors opened his house for potluck and Super Bowl on TV. Cabin fever had pretty much taken over by then. ;)
Dear Merisi, Is it unusual to have this much snow in Vienna? It's beautiful and so are your photographs.
ReplyDeleteox, Gina
Gina,
DeleteI have seen a few heavy snow days since arriving in Vienna, but this much within 24 hours is a record in my books. ;-)
Hope your winter is kind to you now,
Merisi
we are finally starting to dry up after over a week of rainy weather. The sun is out but it's still pretty cold.
ReplyDeleteI'd take cold any day for a bit of sun!
DeleteIt's pretty darn dark around here.
Well we have snow too but not as much as you!! Thankfully. Such delicate photos of the berries.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are safe and comfortable, Barbara!
DeleteThank you,
Merisi
An optimist driver in the snow is the opposite of your regular optimist (the one that sees the glass half FULL). The optimist driver in the snow, sees the street half EMPTY of snow :-).
