Dear Readers,
ReplyDeleteit was not entirely of my free will to republish an old post today. I am writing this on my daughter's MacBook because my big workhorse took a hit last night: a glass of water landed on top of it. I did the last backup of all my files a week ago, so not too much is lost in that regard, "only" a few thousand Euros for a replacement. ;-)
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Merisi
So sorry to hear about your computer accident. Julia Child spilled coffee on her keyboard once and one of the letters didn't work anymore (don't remember which one). But that didn't stop frugal Julia from using it. Only problem was, you had to know how to translate what she was writing when she used the "broken" key.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these beautiful images today Merisi. They are every bit as lovely as they were then and maybe even more special to look back on and appreciate. Wishing you and your family a very happy & healthy new year.
Sam
Dear Merisi, They were beautiful pictures in 208 and they are stll beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDon't give up on your computer...it may correct itself. Let it dry out.
Because you use Blogger, all of your photographs are loaded into Picassa automatically. You can retrieve them from Picassa by using your google password. Also, have you checked your warranty on your computer? You might be able to replace the hard drive with no cost.
Happy New Year, ox, Gina
Sorry to hear about the keyboard mishap and hope things can be resolved. I do enjoy your beautiful photos of a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteAll the best and wishing you and your loved ones a very happy new year.
Un felice anno nuovo!
Brought out to admire and "ooh" and "aah" over like our precious Christmas ornaments we are always delighted to see emerging from the boxes to hang on the tree again. Beautiful sights.
ReplyDeleteAnd may your New Year be filled with all sorts of delights!
What a great tour. Some awesome shots here.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about your computer, Merisi!!! I do hate to have accidents like that happen -- but they do happen!! Your Christmas shots are delightful, regardless of when they were taken and I really enjoyed your post for the day! Wishing you and your family a wonderful, prosperous and very Happy New Year!! Enjoy!

Oh my, thank goodness you backed up your fabulous photos.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the expensive fix for the computer though.
Love your pictures no matter what year they are from.
I wish I would think of taking some of the shots you do, like the people at the bakery. Its a story photo. I have got to loosen up a bit and give this type of photography a try.
FYI
Hubby is doing better and I think we are going to "survive".
Thanks for your concern and comments.
Sue
Has it changed much?
ReplyDeleteStill looks pretty!
Oooops I missed the tragic computer neww...just moved my tea to the edge of the tabletop
ReplyDeleteBetter the floor than my puter get ruined :(
Liquids and technology don't go together do they...
Bon chance with getting it fixed. You can't be the 1st one to do this so there has to be a fix right?

Oh my goodness, Merisi. I do hope that your computer's health might be restored in the New Year.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, let me thank your daughter for allowing you to send us these truly beautiful photographs of Vienna, a city whose splendor knows no season or year...it's always magnificent.

So beautiful, Merisi ... I love the "drizzle lights!"
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you for a New Year filled with good health, happy times, and sweet memories-in-the-making.
