I am safely back in Washington, DC.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, while traveling north on I-81, from Tennessee towards DC, I passed dozens and dozens of power utility trucks from all over the South, from the states of Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. These good people were heading north, to stand by and help restore power to people along the East Coast, in the path of hurricane Sandy.

I was really lucky. It is Tuesday morning and looking outside, only softly falling rain, the tree branches barely moving. And we never lost power.
I'm so glad you mentioned the power trucks. They are something so see on the interstate, like a parade of them, going to those who need them. They came by the droves when we were in Florida from Duke Electric and many others, some as far away as Canada. We've stopped to thank many of them. Hope you are safe from the storm Merisi.

DeleteI really touched my heart seeing those trucks heading north, coming from such faraway places.
It is Tuesday morning, still raining, but softly, and the trees are barely moving. The power's still on in this part of the world, seems like a miracle, considering the destruction the storm caused further north.
Beautiful images and those waves sure must have gotten big over the past 48 hours...whew, what a storm~

Deletethe wind was already blowing so strong on Friday, I did not dare to walk all the way around the lighthouse when I climbed to its top. And the sea was already churning quite angrily, I would not have dared to set a foot into the water.
