Peony
Alpine Garden at the Belvedere
The Alpine Garden of the Belvedere
was created in 1803, at the suggestion of Archduke Johann.
It was the first alpine garden and to this day
thousands of alpine plants and flowers
greet visitors who find the small gate
a few hundred feet from the southern entrance
of the gardens of the Upper Belvedere Palace
