  1. Your leaves and chestnut flowers are much earlier than ours!

  2. Merisi, how lovely is lilac's scent? We are beginning to see the annual arrival of lilacs and peonies for sale at all the corner flower stands. Soon it will be lilac time in Central Park.

I really like the photo of the gardener giving that giant shrub a shaping.

  3. In Warsaw forsythia is just beginning to bloom, rather late this year, BUT they are forecasting temperatures over 20 degrees C for the weekend and early next week. Seems that this year's spring is more like Canadian spring, i.e. cold until May 15th and then right to summer temperature overnight.
Love the last photo. The bushes look like mud pies or our Easter yeast baba's :-).

  5. Ooh, love the new banner!

Here too, the leaves are already fully out and that brilliant, almost surreal early green that feels like a miracle every time one walks outside.

  11. A disease affecting Horse Chestnuts here. Leaves turned brown last year. Hope you don't get it there, they look so lovely and fresh.

    1. Ruth,
we are behind by about a month, at least I feel that way.
It has warmed up considerably, though, and the sun's shining. It will rain a bit tomorrow, but blue skies will return Saturday. I believe the warm rain will help speed leaves and spring blooms up!
      Cheers,
      Merisi
