It's getting later all the Time
Stopping Time in Vienna's Josefstadt

Tempus Fugit
The crevice

through which
time flees
can be ameliorated,

even mended,
through the healing powers

of thoughts

"Si sta facendo sempre più tardi"
is one of my favorite books by the Italian writer Antonio Tabucchi. Alas, I was not even thinking of Tabucchi while I wrote the title of this post, but reflecting on how everything stays in flux, the season, the day, life, how it is getting later all the time, indeed.

  6. Charles,
    carpe diem.

    Hilary,
    thank you! :-)

    Simon,
I'd say it certainly did no harm. ;-)
Whenever I walk by the Aussie pub here, I think of you and if they keep the beer in the freezer! xxx

  8. Beautiful lighting. How wonderful it must be to be surrounded by so many cafes. I will have to inquire about the book at the library.

I wrote those words more than three years ago.
Only today, rereading old letters, from friends now lost forever, can I truly understand the meaning.

  13. It's interesting to think about ... where would one want to stop time, if one could? Wonder how that would work? Is the bookl you discuss in translation?
