The Secret

Some things that fly there be, --
Birds, hours, the bumble-bee:
Of these no elegy.

Some things that stay there be, --
Grief, hills, eternity:
Nor this behooveth me.

There are, that resting, rise.
Can I expound the skies?
How still the riddle lies!

  1. I agree with Jinsky !!!
I've looked for words, or at least ONE word, to add to hers ...
She's said exactly what I feel about the combination of your photo and ED's poem ... EXQUISITE !

  4. Thank you all for your exquisite and generous words!

The sky was bright pink on the one side of our apartment and on the other a bright blue band of blue was left, just before the sun sank below a cloud bank in the west. This morning, sunshine again. The most beautiful Seotember imaginable.
