  5. Wow--that's a big strudel! Looks good, but I'll bet I'd be stuffed if I ate that. Love the little silver pot.

  6. The New Diplomat's Wife,
I wholeheartedly agree! It was my first Marillenstrudel this year. Delicious, as always at Demel.

    Stephanie Levy,
you definitely will have to come back!

    Svet,
    so true! :-)

    A Brush with Color,
it was two o'clock and I made lunch of it!
The good news is, strudel is mostly fruit. ;-)

    My Farmhouse Kitchen,
    it was good, indeed! :-)

  10. I had been in Vienna already several times, but for my husband it was the first time these holidays. He enjoyed it a lot; beautiful city, lovely architecture, great art!
    Best greetings, Marjolijn

  11. A little strudle goes a long way, but leaves one desiring more of the same, a large slice of strudle, makes a person very happy. A large piece of this succulent sweet treat would most certainly make me very happy~

  12. elvira pajarola,
I bet you'd be hopping on that late imaginary plane! *giggles*

    Vicki Lane,
    *smile*

    Nathanaëlle,
hurry, apricot season in the Wachau Valley is going to be over any day now!

    Something White,
    welcome Marjolijn!
I am glad you had a good time here with your husband!

    Mary Howell Cromer,
that slice was large enough to cover lunch and leave space for only a light dinner.
And it was so utterly delicious. I challenge anyone to find me a better strudel anywhere! ;-)

  14. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find (and photograph) an absinthe bar (and table setting, with absinthe) in Vienna.

    If there is one.

  16. It looks wonderful--but, it will NEVER be better than your hot apple strudel delivered to my front door!!! And, it will also have to take a sorry second place against your Fat Tuesday Apricot Jelly Doughnuts. I miss our latte breaks on the front step-and I miss YOU, my dear friend!!
