Lilacs and wisteria are "mauving" all gardens around here too! In my garden the lily-of-the-valley is also blooming... Too early ... Will there be any left for May Day ??!?? Nice pictures !!! M-Noëlle
Oh the glory of lilacs!!! I used to pick bucketfuls and do a lilac run to all those from Europe who missed then. My mountain garden has terraces of lilacs and down in town at sea level they do not do well at all.
Greetings from sunny & beautiful Cape Town, Merisi! Loving your spring photos of Vienna which seems so far away now. Here it is autumn but warmer weather than Europe. No gorgeous lilacs or spring blossoms, though.
We had a few lilac bushes in front of the house where I grew up. They always bloomed around early May, just for my name day on May 15th. One of my favourite flowers.
Zosia, I love flieder, l also grew up in a house with a tall flieder in front. It scented my bedroom at night. Magical memories. The same now walking around Vienna, scent of lilac everywhere.
How about some music?
