* Vienna's famous "Fenstergucker"
refers to a relief sculpture of a man looking out a window
at the base of the pulpit in St. Stephen's Cathedral,
said to be the (self)portrait of Meister Anton Pilgram,
an early 16th Century architect and sculptor

  7. I'm fascinated wondering about that first image. Is the person part of a production or just dressed like that and it kind of looks like a man to me :)

  10. A Brush with Color,
    love that! ;-)

    Photowannabe,
    I confess, there are times when I wished I was less timid about photographing people. I find street photography fascinating.

    Jeannette of Everton Terrace,
    the story of the Lady in Gold will probably forever remain a mystery. I spotted her at the last moment, with only a chance at one quick shot. I captured this image in the summer of 2009.

  11. Lorre,
    and he was such a kind gentleman, offering to open the door for me, to see and photograph the magical courtyard.

    Mary,
    she must have been either an actress/actor or one of those incredibly creative baskers-performers who come through here.
