Santa Maria della Salute
rising from Canal Grande
in the morning mist
Sweeping the church steps
at dawn
Clouds of Meringue
Predawn labour's
sweet result
Crossing Bridges
while the light from the east
slowly unveils
layers of colour
stripped bare of the mist

I think that mist makes light beam sacredly ...
ReplyDeleteDon't you think so ?!?

Marie-Noëlle.
ReplyDeleteI agree! ;-)
Such great reflections in the water of the boat. But I am most partial to the mist. Something always evocative in the mist.
ReplyDeleteWonderful.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful.
I am going back in May - mission; to look at Palladin's villas :-)
Oh you do make it look so yummy!
ReplyDeleteMust get my ticket manana!!!
Beautiful photos, Merisi. Venice is particularly beautiful when the light is toned down, in this case by the morning mist. I also like it in the winter sun, which illuminates without glare.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Thank you for this. I needed some Italy this morning.
ReplyDeleteThis morning fog photo is just exquisite!
ReplyDeleteOh wonderful photographies ! I love Venezia, (I love 3 cities : Paris, Venezia and Wien, 3 cities-poetry, 3 awake dreams, 3 hapiness, 3 wonders)
ReplyDeleteYour photos are very fantastics ! I love the sweetness of the fog on the Canalazzo...
Thank you Merisi !
Nice evening,
Liebe Grüsse, amitiés,
Nathanaëlle
Wow! These are dreamy! I love them all but the first one is truly magical with that early morning sky! Thanks for visiting my blog; I always enjoy seeing what's new on yours!
ReplyDeleteWe listened the Mahler 4th Symphony (2nd mvt; with Bernstein) looking at your photos! Really, they are even more beautiful ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind comments!
ReplyDeleteAmelia & Mihai-Stefan CHIRCA,
listening to Mahler's Fourth transport you to a higher plane, doesn't it?
Oh, I can just imagine Inspector Brunetti walking to work and hopping on a gondola (from Donna Leon books).
ReplyDeleteI 've come back to have a look at those last 2 pictures again !
ReplyDeleteThe light, the reflections, the dark figures... the whole atmosphere ...
I just love them !
Marie-Noëlle
