Whether we carol or weep,
The Sun with his Planets in chime,
Marketh the going of Time."

"Why won't they let a year die without bringing in a new one on the instant, can't they use birth control on time?
I want an interregnum. The stupid years patter on with unrelenting feet, never stopping - rising to little monotonous peaks in our imaginations at festivals like New Year's and Easter and Christmas - But, goodness, why need they do it? "
John Dos Passos, 1917
All lovely, my Merry Merisi...but I for one feel the time passing all too quickly and would ban all clocks were I to be made ruler of the world.

Such lovely photos. I wouldn't mind being reminded of the time in such beautiful surroundings even though it's true that time marches on, especially in the Autumn of life. Every moment seems precious.

Der Turm mit der Uhr schaut einfach phantastisch aus!!
ReplyDeleteMerisi, I can see that I am going to have many wonderful views of Vienna, and other delicious places, as this new 2011 year gets into its groove.
ReplyDeleteMy strange new year's resolution is to find time where it never before seemed to exist.
I've never studied physics, so my resolution might just have to rest on my own time management skills. May those skills improve!

I love that third photo, with the out-of-focus hanging lights illustrating the season but not obscuring the clock. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots -- time is waltzing on. . .
