Sunset at Kahlenberg

Taking in the View
from one of the highest
points of the Vienna Woods
Kahlenberg
19th District

The vineyards
of the 19th District
are bathed in golden light
and the Danube below reflects
the last of the day's blue skies
in the waning evening light

One last wash of gold
set be the sun on her way down,

leaving a hint of rose
over the hills of the Vienna Woods
and Schneeberg mountain beyond

  7. Merisi, whether you are showing us the glories of a perfect cup of coffee on a silver tray, with a glass of water graced with a silver spoon, or proving that falafel may be found in Vienna, or showing us wide open sky atop various beautifully layered hilltops, your site is so filled with beauty.

As always, I admire your photography, words and the ways that you find to blend your talents.

  9. Thank you all for your wonderful comments!

    Ulrike,
I had the same thought, memories of the “Land of the Blue Smoke”, somewhere from Cherokee along the Smoky Mountains. I remember a spot where one can see nine blue mountain ranges or hills, one behind the other, stretching to the horizon!
