One last coffee
while basking in the golden glow
of the October sun
one more time
before the curtain falls
and the bonfires
carry our summer dreams
through that thin wall
into the Otherworld

Lovely, Merisi. My son, Jeremy, and his girlfriend, Katie ( who has a BS in design engineering ) went off with friends to spend the night in San Francisco, in the cutest costumes. I hope the Westin St. Francis appreciated them.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy youe seasonal coffee! Mine's a bottle of zweigelt ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your eye for detail and for the play of light. Your American Halloween dinners sound so civilized and charming! - the perfect response to what has become a very commercialized event. I think I prefer the European tradition of All-Hallows Eve, though I've come to love our annual pumpkin carving ritual here in England with local children that I've just posted about.
ReplyDeleteBest Halloween wishes to you, Merisi! The tradition of the thin veil has long fascinated me.

Ah, the last golden light of October . . . and now I'm but ten minutes from the witching hour...

I love the colour of the fence with the leaves draped over it.

ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous cups of coffee!!!
ReplyDeleteI was hesitating going off to the pool as usual, but these make me want to dive right in!
If only I did dive...
Yum-yum
