Merisi, thank you so much for arranging this perfect breakfast!
ReplyDeleteNow, I am off to meet a friend at MOMA to see the current Matisse exhibit. We've both seen the show before, but not at the same time. Lots of conversation is predicted. Coffee later, and the conversation will continue.
Best wishes.
Ah, I feel like I'm there!
ReplyDeleteThis is really the right and beautiful post for a delicious Viennese breakfast. Present! :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are all so elegant. I love the architecture you're surrounded with there. Thanks for another gem, Merisi.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your kind comments:
ReplyDeleteTO THE DEAR READER
who asked about the "texture" I used for the image with the little white flower:
I don't use anything but the image I shoot. Here, the effect comes from the shallow depth of field. The "texture" in the background is part of the same fence you see in the bottom picture, black wrought iron around a column in the middle of the church square.
A wonderful weekend to all of you,
Merisi
I would love to be there. I can't wait to see your pictures of ...
ReplyDeleteMélanie A.,
ReplyDeleteme neither! ;-)
Conversation overheard while eating my waffle:
"What are your plans for the afternoon?"
"I don't know, yours?"
"I plan to stay here and work."
"I'll go home then."
And yes, these were customers sitting at a table next to me, not the waiters who had this conversation. Vienna at noon! ;-)
Half a waffle? Your strength of character is admirable!
ReplyDeleteVicki Lane,
ReplyDeletethere it was, on the menu,
and I took it! Just the right size. ;-)
Thank you for reminding me of many wonderful breakfasts in Vienna. But breakfast in Vienna is not complete without a fresh Semmel and apricot jam. One of the best breakfasts I had was in Cafe Braunerhof. It was so leisurely it became lunch. Thanks for feeding my Vienna habit Merisi! Rosie
ReplyDeleteRosie,
ReplyDeletethank you! :-)
The waffle was almost lunch, close to noon.
I am not much of a breakfast eater, but the Semmerln and the apricot jam are outstanding here in Vienna!
I have not had coffee at the Bräunerhof. Every time I tried, the nice places by the window were either taken or reserved.
Breakfast in Vienna, and I in LaGrange. You had a waffle and so did I, you had a caffe'latte, I had a mocha caffe'. You saw images however that I could never view here and thus said, I am envious~ Have a lovely weekend~
ReplyDeleteMmm, that waffle makes me suddenly ravenous. Together with the caffelatte, that looks like the perfect breakfast!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos as always. I particularly like the one of the church seen through the flowering branches. Absolutely lovely!
I am intrigued by wildflower dust...
