Nobody knows this little Rose --
It might a pilgrim be
Did I not take it from the ways
And lift it up to thee.
Only a Bee will miss it --
Only a Butterfly,
Hastening from far journey --
On its breast to lie --
Only a Bird will wonder --
Only a Breeze will sigh --
Ah Little Rose -- how easy
For such as thee to die!

How gorgeous! I love the delicate roses against the graphic lettering here.
ReplyDeleteLovely, I collect china jugs with roses on them. This would be a perfect rose.
ReplyDeleteOr to live!
ReplyDeleteLovely compositions! You illustrate Emily D. so well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful Shakespeare piece you left me! xxamy
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo here today.
Your eyes perceive so much, Merisi, and you bring it to us through your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Fruili-whatsit and am deeply, truly, madly jealous!
ReplyDeleteDid you happen to see George C.?
you could have tossed him a rose...sigh
Thank you all for your wonderful comments!
ReplyDeleteParis Breakfast,
Friuli-Venezia Giulia is an incredibly diverse and intersting region, offering everything, from the mountains to the sea, and then, Trieste, to top it all off!
Georgie-boy resides at Lake Como (I only tossed him a virtual kiss over the mountain when I drove from Milan to Bergamo *giggles*), that is way west of F-VG, in the Lombardy region of Italy, Milan is the capital.
Love the photographs of the red letters and rose!
ReplyDeleteRoses are one of my faves! You took the sense of the rose in these pics!
