Your yellow dots today look so playful.........The Yellow Café in Arles, Van Gogh......of course.....you know what to do and how to do it with style :-)
ReplyDeleteI am going to Paris in October. Will search for French coffee then, and the Merisi style photos.....
Will you continue your studies this fall, or was it for one semester only?
Any plans for Italy?

ReplyDeleteI am going to Paris in October and will have some French comee then. Hope to take some photos Merisis style.
I love that expression!
ReplyDeletePerfect photographs on a flawless day.
Are you an angel from coffee heaven?
P.S. That blue fan, I gotta get one.
Looks like a lovely place ... and the photo of the lady with the newspaper and small blue fan/water spray bottle is great :)
ReplyDeleteTICA,
ReplyDeleteoh, that's so sweet - merci! -
I'd love to be the Coffee Angel, or fairy! ;-)
DORTE,
I wished I would have had the courage to ask her permission for a portrait, alas, I did not dare. She was one grande Lady! I wonder whether there was eau de lavande in the bottle, like Annick Goutal*s. *swoon*
I am so glad that Corey introduced you to us. Since visiting Corey and France, I am in love with the country. Your pictures take me back so I can be there, again, for a brief moment.
ReplyDeleteps....the picture of the lady drinking espresso...that is me, if I lived there. Dressed to express my inner being. Oh, to be free and able to do that. I love this picture.
ReplyDeleteDid you know that one of the 2 best French schools of photography is in Arles ???

You must be under 30 to sit for the competitive exam - only 20 students are admitted into the first year !!! ... Ready to move to Arles for 3 years ??????????

DON'T MOVE!
ReplyDeleteJust visit...I would miss yr Vienna cafe shots...
Loverly indeed
I'd love to see the whole world through your pictures, Merisi!
ReplyDeleteJust realized who the lady reminded me of -- The madwoman of Chaillot.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a coffee drinker, more tea, but that does look good! Love all of those photos, it has been so long since I have blog read mainly due to it being summer with 101 things to do!! By the way, in answer to your question, it's Georgia.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a beautiful day, and who wouldn't in that area!!!
Ulrike
I was just taking a break from what I was doing to pop over and see your current post. Taking a break to visit you is a lovely experience, but this woman taking a break in Arles has me realizing that my 'taking a break' moments need richer surroundings. I'm in the wrong place, at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteHere's another post that leaves me with a sigh. (I typed 'sign' instead of 'sigh' just then. Hmmmmm.)
So happy for you -
Catherine
formidable!

ReplyDeleteOui, mademoiselle!
Merci!
I love the shot "Taking a Break" :0)
ReplyDeleteOh that cloister is so beautiful. Those weathered arches give me goose bumps.

Gutes Gelingen!
My day was rather simple and to view the elegance of these images, makes me thirst for more of the rarity of the splendor of your days. I love the tranquil appeal to these and the beauty of each. The one where the person is reading the paper while lying down, the softness of the background building is just splendid~
ReplyDeleteYes thank you. It's the way to go, living like a God! So I will just go ahead and take my photographic sip with you~
ReplyDeleteIt is always a pleasure to see your photographic journal Merisi, but these are particularity relaxing!
Merci bien~

I don't know where to start! Amazing and beautiful posts ... Love the "taking a break" and reading the paper the French way ... she has her little fan and everything! I can here old French music playing in the background!
ReplyDeleteUm, that was hear not here. ;)
ReplyDeleteArles is one of my favorite places in Provence. You've captured it beautifully. It is so rich in Roman history. I wish I was sitting at a table with you right now sipping a lovely glass of espresso at the Hotel Nord-Pinus.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it might be warm there in the photo of the lady with the newspaper and spritzer. You have to be in Provence only once in the summer to realize why they have shutters on their windows.
Sam
The third shot's my favourite.
