Lavender
A sprig of lavender
against my sun-kissed kitchen curtain
on Sunday morning
Peony
Saturday's buds
have burst asunder,
revealing a pale pink
peony flower
leaning into the light
streaming through
the window

Pink and purple perfection...
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed our bumper crop of peonies this year.
ReplyDelete(thanks for the tip on using the raw lasagna noodles...I like to do that, too...will try it with the asparagus recipe next time around!)
Lavender's scent is my favorite. I have a bar of lavender soap on the shelf beside my work chair so I can enjoy the fragrance.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are most romantic today!
Jinsky,
ReplyDeletethese lovely Pink Princesses are standing at the table next to my desk now, their fragrance heading in my direction, their flower heads open and ever so lovely.
willow,
these are among the last of the peonies for this year. They have been blooming since the end of April, different varieties at different times. I shall miss them!
Vicki Lane,
I still have large bundles of Lavender from last year's crop around the house. Do I have to let go of them? ;-)
I <3 peonies now :)
ReplyDeleteSuch tender, sweet tones and scents. I can almost smell the lavender being warmed by the sun. My peonies seem brash and boisterous in comparison with yours. But aren't they gorgeous, extravagant blooms, peonies! You've captured them beautifully.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty. Love peonies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Peonies and Lavender, a perfect foil for each other.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are bewitching.
beautiful sunny pictures :)
ReplyDeletePeonies are such cool flowers. They start out as such tight little balls, and then bloom into big fluffy flowers.
ReplyDeleteAll of these are so lovely photos..you might want to consider entering one into my free photo contest for June...the theme is flowers!
