"A route of evanescence
With a revolving wheel;
A resonance of emerald,
A rush of cochineal;
And every blossom on the bush
Adjusts its tumbled head, -
The mail from Tunis, probably,
An easy morning’s ride."
Emily Dickinson

always beautiful! This afternoon we have some sun, a delightful pause from all this raining...thank you for letting me see this wonderful rose!
ReplyDeleteThere is a tenderness to your photo -- the way the petal laps over the bud . . .
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo, as always, Merisi. The bud resting against the full blossom reminds me of a child resting his head against his mama.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Ilva,
ReplyDeleteI hope the sun has returned to Tuscany for good!
Vicki Lane,
yes, I agree! :-)
Pat,
thank you!
I felt the same way about the bud and the "mothter" rose, as if seeking comfort or sanctuary.
I have six roses just this color on my desk, as we speak.
ReplyDeleteSo delicate and fresh. Terrific composition.
