  3. "Timid" is such a good word to describe the gentle spring light. And I liked the way you worked in just a subtle bit of the green!

  4. I always just thought it was Do & Co and now I know it is the Haas Haus!

  5. Southern Lady,
    thank you!
I am always amazed what one can capture on a walk from point A to point B, especially if one is under time pressure. ;-)

    Juju,
I was really happy to be able to take a few pictures today. I had not been out and about for what must be two weeks, what with my new schedule and the fact that I was abroad for almost a week.

  6. Lara Neusiedler,
I miss Vienna like crazy when I am away.
Some parts of me feel here really at home now.

    Bee,
it was a bit overcast, but one could almost see the sun through the thin cloud cover. Every now and then, big charcoal grey clouds moved about on the horizon, yet the light has changed, winter's left for good.

    Badger,
I have only been up at their cafe' with the splendid sight of the cathedral, with friends who stayed at the hotel there. I have not been back there since.

  7. Talking about feeling at home:
I noticed that somebody from the Library of Congress visited my blog. This made me realize that at least part of my heart is still at home over there. I feel truly nostalgic for the days when I was able to visit from there.

  8. You always manage to make everything dreamy! Great compositions along with something that is so ... O.K. ... I haven't found the right words but I love it.

    Yep, dreamy.

p.s. cracked up at your coffee post!

  11. Beautiful photos of a beautiful city. Seeing photos of a place I have visited so mehow makes me remember the smell of the place, the qu ality of the light and, of course, the people.

  12. Cobalt Violet,
thank you very much for your kind words and for picking my blog for the Beautiful Blogger Award.
I am very grateful for your good words and awards are a wonderful recognition. As things stand now, my time is very limited, the blog is wonderful diversion from my duties as a student and my family. I really rejoice in sharing my new hometown (can I still say "new hometown" after 4 1/2 years?) with my readers, who in turn have kept me shooting away even on days when I otherwise would have thrown the camera into a corner.
I am right now learning so much about photography that is new to me, and I am so grateful for the opportunity.
I just hope I can make all of you who have supported me over the years proud, being able to say, yes, I knew her when all she did was taking snapshots while discovering the beauty of new hometown. I hope to go on exploring and sharing with you as much as I can.
Thank you all, and today especially you, Cobalt Violet,
    Merisi

  13. Vicki Lane,
I hope to one day have the time to share more about that special tile roof of St. Stephen's!

    Loree,
I am so glad to be able to share this place with you!
I also delight in visiting other blogs about places that are dear to my heart. Such immediacy was hard to come by before the www and blogs made it possible to travel virtually at will.

  14. What a gorgeous group of photos. I especially love the one with the lady and her gorgeous Louie Vuitton bag and her dog. That bag looks big enough to carry the day. Maybe it is a dog carrier. When you get a chance, please stop by my kitchen. I have something for you.
