September
It seems these luminous days
will never end.
The city,
which was almost empty during August,
now is filling up again.
It is
being
replenished.
The restaurants
are all reopening,
the shops.
People are coming back
from the country,
the sea,
from trips on roads
all jammmed
with cars.

but before we turn around good, the fall winds will be blowing the leaves from the trees and we'll be grabbing sweaters and dreaming of lovely places like this!

I love when the days point towards Fall. Everything has a special glow. Lovely pictures as usual Merisi.
ReplyDeleteLuminous is exactly the word for the weather and light we're having just now -- a still, anticipatory hush is in the air.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures -- especially that first one. And the long table, waiting . . . what a lovely place you live in! You are surely Vienna's best ambassador.
You have captured September in light and shadow.
ReplyDeleteSeptember is so mellow and pretty.
ReplyDeleteI remember a walking holiday at Alpbach in the Tyrol many summers ago.
We swam in freezing lakes during the day, boiled on our walks and made up fires at night.
It was lovely.
What beauty ...clean... fresh...distinct...a sharp slice of life served on a sparkling glass plate.
ReplyDeleteThese photographed images, Mersi, are inspired.
What is not to ADORE here?
ReplyDeleteall the light makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteYour viennese semptember is brighful and beautiful
ReplyDeleteInspirational images, Merisi. The first one, especially, is stunning.
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDelete@ Sandi McBride:
That's why I try to enjoy every moment of these late summer days: May they last into November! :-)
@ photowannabe:
I agree,
and still, summer's warm glow lingers.
@ Vicki Lane:
I could drown in this luminosity!
The table is set right by a river which comes rushing down from the mountains - a luminuos feast to be! It was my sister's favorite place. We used to steal an hour or two away from our little ones and pretend we had all the time in the world.
Her time ended, on this 5th of September nine years ago, I still return to our place, in her memory.

Mellow, yes, I agree,
the heat has lost its sting,
and the world is at its most sensuous this time of the year.

The first one is of one of the statues in the large beautiful sunroom of the cafe, with this delightful view into the garden outside and the hills beyond the river. A wonderful place to spend a weekend morning!
