Where to Park Your Bike in Vienna?
Under the wristwatches, where else?
For many of us nowadays,
a bicycle is just a bicycle.
In Vittoria De Sica's 1948 film
"The Bicycle Thief" the protagonist
is at risk of not only using his livelyhood,
but also his dignity when his bicycle is stolen.
One of the most heart-breaking scenes - and my favorite one
as far as film photography is concerned -
happens when father and son run after the suspected thief.
Watch how the little boy appears in the frame (at 1:40),
runs under the arc and disappears in the crowd.
Trzesniewski
Open-faced finger sandwiches,
and we know what's not in any of the
egg-based spreads!
The ingredients list
in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film "Delicatessen"
appears to be a bit more mysterious!

Café Hawelka
Coffee service as it should be!
The Hawelka coffee melange
may well be Vienna's finest.

What a beautiful place and the first shot is fun. Your sunset shots in the post under this one are glorious.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see more every day life in Vienna! I've heard of those sandwiches - they sound yummy. And that bike picture was a bit of a mind twister (is that a teeny weeny bike? or are those watches and book oversized?) until I noticed the reflection of the camera.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is amazing as always Merisi. I could move in here :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a diverse collection of whimsy! (I clicked on the "Chat" photo . . . couldn't follow it at all, but was much amused by the green velvet phone.)
